The Department of Public Works Environmental Engineering Division is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer. The Division administers and manages the wastewater and water functions for several sewer districts, county-wide solid waste and recycling programs in eastern and western Placer County, and capital projects for its facilities. This is an exciting leadership position that includes supervision of an engineering team dedicated to delivering various projects. The position will have direct involvement in department budgeting, project planning, development of project plans, and procurement of consultants and contractors. The position will also be responsible for interfacing with a multitude of agencies. The ideal candidate should possess a strong desire and skill set to lead other county staff towards the delivery of successful projects along with a high comfort level and aptitude with oral and written communication to foster positive relationships internal and external to the county for the greater good of the communities we serve.
Experience and Training Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be: Experience: Five years of increasingly responsible experience in engineering, including two years of supervisory responsibility. Training: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field. License or Certificate: •Possession of a Certificate of Registration as a Professional Engineer in an appropriate discipline as issued by the State of California. •May need to possess a valid driver's license as required by the position. Proof of adequate vehicle insurance and medical clearance may also be required.
